Artworks on paper from Icons of the 20th Century including Pablo Picasso, Marc Chagall, Salvador Dali, Joan Miro and Henri Matisse
Mezani Fine Art favours these artists as they are considered the “masters” of the 20th-century art as they fundamentally changed the way art is expressed. Pablo Picasso, Marc Chagall, Salvador Dali, Joan Miro and Henri Matisse broke away from traditional artistic representation and embraced abstraction, subjectivity and the unconscious mind.
Pablo Picasso (1881–1973) Co-founded Cubism, which used geometric forms whcih showed objects at different angles at the same time.
Henri Matisse (1869–1954) Leader of the Fauvist movement, used colour to express emotion and pioneered the “cut-outs” technique, as a new form of pictorial formation.
Salvador Dalí (1904–1989) Used Surrealism in his art, expressing the unconscious mind creating mulitiple images onto a single artwork.
Joan Miro (1893–1983) Creates Surrealist artworks using the subconsciousness and fantasy to create his dream-like images.
Marc Chagall (1887–1985) Used a mix of Surrealism, Fauvism, and Cubism in his art to create unique, poetic, and dream-like styles which were mainly rooted from his memory and Jewish folklore.
